GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION


We are looking for a "Senior Database Specialist" to be employed in the Information Security and Infrastructure Directorate, operating within the Technology Department of Eksim Holding A.Ş.


Job Description


  • Provide support for all PostgreSQL databases,
  • Ensure maintenance processes and daily checks of databases,
  • Support database update/upgrade and go-live processes,
  • Actively monitor databases and take quick action in case of issues,
  • Perform performance tuning on databases and manage capacity planning,
  • Follow up on backup/restore processes of databases,
  • Have experience with SQL Server / Oracle DB to integrate with external database systems,
  • Support software development teams by providing database services such as installation, migration, analysis, and consultancy,
  • Monitor error logs of database environments and database-dependent monitoring systems to quickly address issues,
  • Be part of the on-call rotation system within the team,
  • Take responsibility in project-based work and complete related tasks,
  • Perform improvement and simplification work on existing infrastructures,
  • Carry out load balancing and consolidation processes among database servers,
  • Document structures in database systems,
  • Continuously engage in professional development through technical training and accumulated knowledge gained during work.


General Qualifications


  • Graduated from Computer Engineering or similar departments,
  • Preferably with 5 years of experience in the field,
  • Proficient in English,
  • Minimum 5 years of PostgreSQL experience,
  • Experience in high availability and disaster recovery,
  • Proficient in PostgreSQL cluster and replication structure (Patroni Cluster & Pgbouncer & HAProxy),
  • Prone to active work focused on problem detection and solution,
  • Experience in database monitoring, backup/restore, version patch, and version upgrade,
  • Preferably with at least 2 years of experience in SQL Server and Oracle database systems.
